The Mortar is a weapon appearing only in Twisted Metal III and Twisted Metal 4.
Description[]
The Mortar works much like Napalm, although instead of launching flame, the Mortar launches a large explosive which homes in on enemies and creates a thunderous impact with the ground and/or opponents. It is a highly damaging weapon but takes a bit of skill to use, as one must plan ahead before firing the Mortar so that the Mortar can hit an opponent. The best results from Mortars come from direct hits.
Trivia[]
- The Funnybomb Special Weapon selectable in Create Car mode in Twisted Metal 4 functions very similarly to the Mortar, except it travels much farther and emits multiple explosions.
- The Mortar has not appeared in any Twisted Metal games outside of the ones made by 989 Studios, along with the Speed Missile, the Rain Missile, the Rain 2 Missile, the M.I.R.V, the Auto Lob, and the Freeze Remote Bomb.
